  • “Explore the Woonasquatucket” Recreation Series: Full Moon Hike & Wood Fired Pizza!

SMITHFIELD – On Friday, May 5th, 2023, the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) invites you for an evening hike starting and ending at Revive the Roots in Smithfield. This Friday evening hike is part of the WRWC’s “Explore the Woonasquatucket' Recreation Series, which offers year-round guided tours of beautiful and historic sites throughout the Woonasquatucket River watershed – with paddle trips, hikes, and bike rides. This Winter, explore the watershed by land with a series of walks and hikes.

On Friday evening, May 5th at 6:30pm, join the WRWC’s recreation guides for a full moon hike at Mowry Commons and Mowry Conservation Area. The hike will start at Revive the Roots, which is a non-profit “committed to cultivating a world where our lands are stewarded with care and respect to meet the needs of both people and the environment.” Participants will hike at dusk through Mowry Commons and into the Mowry Conservation Area. The group will loop back around and return to the start. Back at RTR, participants can enjoy some wood fired pizza and view the full moon on the property of this working farm. Thanks to RTR for hosting! This hike will take about 1.5 hours. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Extra fee included for pizza supplies!

This series is generously funded by REI CO-OP. Visit WRWC.ORG/EVENTS to register for this hike and to see the full “Explore the Woonasquatucket” Recreation Series schedule. Advance sign-up is required.
