PROVIDENCE, RI (October 1, 2019) – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) has
expanded the reach of its Your Blue StoreSM retail experience with
the opening of a new store in Cranston. The new store, located at 1400 Oaklawn
Avenue, provides Rhode Islanders with an unmatched way to interact with their
health plan whether they have health plan benefits questions, need help finding
a doctor, want to take free fitness classes or talk to a BCBSRI nurse about
ways to save on medications. Rhode Islanders can also learn about BCBSRI’s
different health plan offerings during the upcoming benefits election period.

Island experience and our expansion demonstrates our commitment to the state

told us they want to talk face-to-face with a representative when they have
health plan questions or take free fitness classes that are convenient to them.
There are times they also want advice from a health professional about an
ongoing medical condition, like diabetes. This is what our retail stores are
able to do – bring healthcare into the community in ways that are truly
Your Blue Store is the fourth retail location for BCBSRI. When it officially
opens on October 7, the Cranston store will join others in East Providence,
Lincoln and Warwick.
Store locations provide a hands-on
customer service experience for things such as choosing and purchasing a health
plan, getting help with a current plan, paying premium bills and even
participating in a care management program. The stores also have a community
room that can accommodate up to 30 attendees for fitness classes, as well as
private consultation space so that members can work with the BCBSRI care
coordination staff like a nurse or a nutritionist. A sampling of fitness
classes includes Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Zumba and Circuit Training.
Rhode Islanders have made nearly 170,000 visits to Your Blue Store locations.
